Look for Ways to Help Others

As mentioned in Promoting Yourself, "When you put others first, your goals, perspective, and focus change.  If we strive to build others up on their accomplishments and abilities and just care for one another, what an amazing impact we will have on others and the world.  It starts with one person looking ahead of himself instead of looking at himself." 

Have you ever noticed that when you're having a BAD day and you take the focus off yourself and begin to look for ways to help others, your day doesn't look so bad after all?  When we focus on others and how we may be able to help them we begin to feel complete.  We stop having the pity party inside our head and we become passionate about helping others.  Take every opportunity to help others in whatever you are doing.  Practice random acts of kindness.  The simplest thing may make a world of difference to another.  Look for ways to help others at your work, neighborhood, school, while out shopping and just anywhere you may be.
